Once a place of silent prayer
Gloomy halls and incensed air
Where men of faith would kneel, before
Their gilded image of heaven’s door.
Now the windows frame the dreams unborn
The statue’s niche now empty and forlorn.
Beneath the grass, past heroes fade away
Will the men of hope now have their day ?
