Seeps into grave goods, gold, a rusted spear.
Beware of dreams under the goose-flown snow.
It mattered then
upon the ridge
We met disappointment, bile, darkness.
The wind blasted at my heart
Corruption’s maw with sulphur closed
Pain’s blind press forgotten,
Gravity cradles a planet in blue
Warmed by fusion from a far distant star.
Raucous birds in scattered black alarm,
slowly returning shadows, among
Sleepy, damp hair sags onto a cold yawning face
Coat buttoned up, hands in pockets, wet wind flapping trousers
Toiled the unmoving horizon
Bone bare stone walls
Child, how your sweetness at the breast fills me,
As I flow into you.
Must I then be alone to give my love
and have no home to find my rest
