Chameleon (1999)

I’m no red green, stop go lizard.
But a chameleon in hue.
I don’t dispute. I adapt to
My surroundings like a wizard.
Fleet prey or take away ? I stay
Put and let the food come my way.
While you might seek to stand out in
Some way, I will always fit in,
With my polychromatic skin.
And though true you’re free of doubt in
Your views, I have more flexible
An outlook, quite reversible
You might say. I can look both or
Either way, independently.
No one can ever persuade me
To empty conformity, for
I can keep an open house, within
The hide of my empathic skin.
